Gondwana now offers online shopping on new website
The Gondwana Collection became the first local company in the tourism sector to integrate the INNkeeper booking system with a custom built E-commerce shopping cart function seamlessly into a new fully adaptive and responsive website.
The new website which went live recently, now offers a new shopping cart function where clients can conveniently plan and book entire trip at once.
According to Gondwana one can select and pay for more than one property at once and an integrated map functionality shows the route description.
“Clients will be able to create a profile and account on the store. Online shopping made easy. It is compatible to any electronic device. The information is available in three languages – English, German and French, they added in a statement.
South African based Realm Digital, Gondwana’s longstanding digital strategy and technology partner, could not wait to get their teeth stuck into this challenging project that required a complete redesign of the website with the aim of making the new offering responsive.
After 20 months of hard work, mutual visits and numerous Skype consultations, the website finally went online.
“I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and enjoyed my trip to Namibia”, said Realm’s Team Lead Developer Clint Lynch.
“Dealing with all the relevant stakeholders has been pleasant. I’m certain that this new website will aid Gondwana’s vision to build a Namibian travel community. This robust system also enables Gondwana to handle their growing international customer base,” lynch added.
Furthermore, Gondwana has begun to expand on its Gondwana News, which now includes news from Namibia in general. The categories on our website look at Economy, Environment, Discover Namibia, Tourism and so much more.
“Currently we are busy rectifying some minor shortcomings of the new website,” said Gondwana’s Online Marketing Manager Bernd Grahl, who spearheaded and coordinated the ambitious project.
“We sincerely thank our partners Realm Digital, VCS Payment Solutions, CIMSO Development Division, HeussenMedia, our hosting provider Mittwald and all the colleagues of the Gondwana family, who were involved in the project for their valuable input and support,” he added.
