Sevens quest to conquer in Zim
The four players are Russell van Wyk, David Philander, Johan Tromp and Darryl De La Harpe. These four players will be part of the 12 man squad set for the tournament.
The Sevens team will tap into the experience of five players that have represented Namibia internationally after the inclusion of scrum-half Arthur Bouwer. The Namibian Sevens group, under coach Vince Dreyer, have been hard at work for a considerable time now preparing for the tournament that will be hosted at the Harare Sports Club in Zimbabwe.
The tournament will kick off after Christmas and will start on the 29th of December, running the course of two days. The event is the front runner to the 2015 African Olympic Qualification tournament that will determine who will represent the continent at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The other teams participating in the tournament are: South Africa (SARU Academy), Kenya (Shujaa), Botswana, Zambia, Tunisia, Senegal, Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire , Nigeria, Uganda and hosts Zimbabwe.
The full Namibian 7s Team will include: Handrè Bezuidenhout, Morten van Kradenburg, Darryl De La Harpe, Aurelio Plato, Justin Nel, Lean Stoop, David Philander, Johan Tromp, Christo van der Merwe, Arthur Bouwer, Tuna Amonteya, Russell van Wyk and Coach: Vince Dreyer.
