FNB Namibia sponsored N$15,000 towards the Namibian Table Tennis Association (NTTA) for hosting this year’s event of the Table Tennis Inter-School Championships which is scheduled to take place on Saturday for the first time in the Hardap Region.
Ingrid Goeieman, FNB Manager for PR and Sponsorship said,“We have worked with the NTTA over the last couple of years and we are proud to be associated with them. We hope that we can build on this relationship.” Goeieman urged the NTTA to further expand this event in the future to the different regions and schools.
The inter-school championship is one of the NTTA’s prime youth development events. The competition is an annual event which takes place at a different venue each year.
This year the championships are taken to Stampriet in the Hardap Region. This small town is home to some of the finest and most committed young table tennis athletes in Namibia and it made a lot of sense to host it in their home town.

Close to 40 youngsters from ten different schools have confirmed their participation. They will battle it out in the girls and boys division. Despite being a first for Stampriet, a very exiting competition is expected with no clear favourites. Spectators and players alike can look forward to very competitive table tennis. The participating schools are: Elnatan Privaat Skool, Rehoboth High School, Mariental High School, M&K Gertze, Ruimte Primary School, Dr Lemmer High School, Vooruitsig Primary School, Holy Cross Convent and DHPS Private School.
“We would like to thank FNB Namibia for their kind sponsorship. This money will help us a lot in hosting a successful Inter-School Championships,” said NTTA chairman, Reinhardt Stanley.
