O&L’s Bartsch joins training council as member

Sonja Bartsch, Group Financial Manager: Operations, of the Ohlthaver & List Group of Companies has been appointed to the National Training Fund Council as a member. The Council assists the Namibia Training Authority Board to control and administer the National Training Fund which is funded by the Training Levy all businesses with a payroll exceeding N$1 million, have to pay. Bartsch had been nominated by the Namibia Employers Federation of which the O&L Group is a member.
Bartsch said “I am passionate about training and ensuring that people gain the necessary experience to do their jobs well. As you may be aware, numerous O&L employees such as our Executive Chairman, Sven Thieme; Gideon Shilongo; and Patricia Hoeksema serve beyond the borders of our company on other boards and councils to lead positive change in our country. O&L encourages visionary and inspiring leaders and I am glad to be able to do my part in a field that is my passion, training and education.” She said she intends to make a difference on a number of levels for the next three years.
Otto Shikongo, NTA Board Chairperson thanked her for availing herself to serve on the council. “We look forward to work with Sonja Bartsch in developing Vocational Education and Training so that it meets the needs of industry,” he said.
