In 2013 a business was created by Lilian Mundia and Melanie van der Merwe based on the shared conviction that their work should benefit the lives of every client and Namibian involved while being 100% owned by previously marginalised women and this vision sprouted up in the form of Women Unleashed.
The company, Women Unleashed Trading Enterprises CC is registered with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Finance, Employment Equity Commission and Social Security Commission offers activities like project management, interior dĂ©cor and design, construction, manufacturing of furniture, landscaping, procurement, training and development. Women Unleashed is firmly grounded on three principles, design, manufacture and people. The duo of  Lilian and Melanie pride themselves on timeous service delivery, commitment and accountability. women.  Lilian Mundia being the Manager of Finance and Melanie van der Merwe, Manager Projects of Women Unleashed are passionate about ploughing back their extensive individual experience gained while working on a variety of projects contractual basis. Their clients are top priority and ensuring their best interests are kept at heart is the core value on which the company is founded.

The industrious ladies said, their company is passionate about skills development, training and mentoring especially in rural communities. “This aspect of our work has quickly gained momentum, and to date we have provided training, capacity building and mentoring to fourteen individuals, eleven of which were in 2013 alone,”the duo said. “Though our permanent team consist of five full time employees, we are inherently flexible and can grow our team as the project requires, this is achieved by bringing in up to 35 part-time members,” they emphasised. “Our vision is that everything we do and make should improve the lives of Namibians, to stay true to this we are dedicated teachers and guides,” they said. “We have helped to place a number of persons in permanent positions following the completion of a variety of projects,” they added. In their drive to empower Namibian people with knowledge and skills, Women Unleashed draws from a large pool of creative professionals to share their expertise with upcoming artisans and designers and areas of skills development, training and mentoring include woodwork, bead work, curtaining, decorative needlework, framing, upholstery and up cycling.
