Renowned intermedia artist, Karina Smigla-Bobinski arrived in Windhoek over the weekend to participate in the week-long Participatory Design Conference. The conference runs until this Friday and ends with a exhibition of so-called intermedia design.
The 13th Participatory Design Conference is taking place in Windhoek this week. It is the first time that the conference is hosted by an African country since its inception in 1990. The Participatory Design Conference consists of workshops and interactive art installations on the topic of participatory design.

Smigla-Bobinksi presented her analogue interactive installation ADA. Her works have been shown in 38 countries on 5 continents and this week became available to a Namibian audience for the first time. She said “ADA is an installation which creates a unique artwork in cooperation with the Namibian public through an Open Source process. I welcome everyone who wants to be an artist too.”
All the art installations such as ADA, an e- Baobab or a sound installation are open to the public on Friday.
