The best storyteller

The Okambashu Story Quest enters its final round on 30 September 2014 at the Windhoek Show grounds, with the nine qualified storytellers from all over the country gracing the grand finale. The finalists will prove their skills to a large audience and a high-profile panel of judges at the event which will be held in the Gondwana Hall in the evening from 18h30. The panel of judges are well-known South African storytellers Jammies Jamneck, Nico Nel und Arno van Zyl. They will judge the performances according to the following criteria: eye contact with the listeners, engaging their attention, structure and logical composition of the story building up to a climax, as well as freshness and spontaneity of the storytelling style.  Tickets for the Story Quest are available from Gondwana for N$240 while Gondwana Card holders pay N$200. The price also includes the entrance fee to the show grounds and dinner.

Meanwhile a preamble to the story quest will see this Saturday the South African band Professors rock the Gondwana Hall with world-famous songs like Start me up by the Rolling Stones or All summer long by Kid Rock. The group will also continue on 1 to 3 October with the entertainment and tickets will cost N$40 and are available from Gondwana and at the door. Delicious snacks will be served in the Gondwana Hall all day. A seating area of generous proportions and the canopied veranda will entice guests to linger longer. Desmond Breedt will provide live music entertainment between 12:00 and 15:00 from 1 to 4 October The latest books in the Gondwana series collection, The People of the Eastern Caprivi by Antje Otto and Manfred Goldbeck, are expected to attract wide interest at the Windhoek Show as well as other Gondwana publications.
