Bank Windhoek recognises employees
Mariental Branch also scooped the Gold Award in the category for medium-sized branches. The Gold Award in the large branch category went to Maerua Mall Branch, while Oranjemund picked up the Gold Award in the small branch category (for the second consecutive year). Johann Schroer, Branch Manager of Mariental Branch, was delighted to receive the floating trophy, and dedicated the award to his staff for their hard work and commitment to customer service and making banking a rewarding experience for all clients, as well as their commitment to the Bank’s vision of becoming the preferred bank in Namibia. Bank Windhoek also recognised its staff for excellence and performance in the workplace. Four staff members received the Managing Director’s awards for their hard work and dedication toward Bank Windhoek’s vision.
Lukas Nanyemba, Regional Executive: Corporate Banking, received the MD’s Leadership award for managerial staff for his inspirational and exemplary leadership. Although called MD’s awards, all the staff in the bank were invited to nominate a colleague for one of the awards, which enabled them to recognise and acknowledge the achievements of their peers and team members. Nanyemba was praised for his ability to embrace diversity, communicate clearly and effectively, build effective working relationships and his strong commitment to organisational success and quality results, amongst others. He is also regarded as a Change Champion who is flexible in responding to change and his “Can-do” attitude. Other recipients of the MD’s awards were Tanya Gertze, Senior Collateral Officer at the Vehicle and Asset Finance Branch, who received the MD’s Leadership award for non-management staff, Marisa Hurter of Marketing and Corporate Communication Services who received the award for Best Secretary/Personal Assistant for Support Services and Jeanette de Waal of Walvis Bay Branch who received the award for Secretary/Personal Assistant for Branches.
