Silverware: The coveted National League Cup won this week by SKW’s table tennis first team.

The Namibian Table Tennis Associations (NTTA) National Team League came to a thrilling conclusion (down to the final match) on Monday evening in Windhoek after 14 match-days full of action.
The Members of the SKW Table Tennis Club 1 had to beat the first team of the Police Table Tennis Club with a seemingly impossible score of 6-1 to still clinch the league title. And although the odds were stacked heavily against them, they managed to do just that.
Both sides showed fantastic Table Tennis from, but SKW TTC 1 just had a touch more fire power and, much to their delight, eventually took the match 6-1. It was one of the tightest and closest finishes to the National League ever. SKW TT Club 1 hence won the National Team League by 1 match aggregate.  The new champions Reinolt Schurz, Bjorn Wasielke, Michael Xu and Heiko Fleidl celebrated their comeback of epic proportions. Police first team (Ramon Hansen, Reinhardt Stanley, Rudi Saunderson and Fabian Tait) finished the league 2nd on the same points. The 3rd overall place went to SKW second team (Johann Malan, Wayne Green and Christa Mrozek) with 3 points less than the first two teams. The NTTA Singles League 2014 starts on 15 September and will be held over 16 weeks.
