Epson appoints local distributors

Epson recently appointed two Namibian distribution partners, thus expanding its local distribution base, in an effort to boast the supply to the Namibian Information Communication Technology channel. Comztek Africa and Tarsus Technologies will thus become the sole distributors of the Epson range within Namibia. Speaking at an Epson ceremony in the capital last week, Epson South Africa Business Development Manager, Western and Eastern Cape, and Namibia, Hugh Davies said, “Epson is expanding its presence in the Southern African Development Community through a network of locally-established and experienced technology distributors. The appointment of Comztek and Tarsus means that Epson now has a strong channel in place to focus on growing our presence throughout Namibia.” Epson’s range of Large Format, Dot Matrix, LabelWorks, Ink Tank System (ITS) and Point of Sale (POS) printers, Projectors and Scanners are now available through these distributors. TechniCare Namibia will continue to support existing Epson products in the country regarding service and warranty matters.

Each product range has models suited to many different large and small business sectors including retail, hospitality, design, advertising, photography, architecture, engineering, manufacturing, mining, tourism and government. Epson also carries ranges of products ideally suited to consumer needs. “Tarsus Technologies established its Namibia office in 2005, and has built solid relationships in the local market,” said Hennie du Toit, Branch Manager of Tarsus Namibia.  “Adding Epson’s printers, scanners and projectors to our portfolio means that we can offer our local customers more variety, secure in the knowledge that these products are leaders in their categories, worldwide,”he said. Said Dieter Schoonbee, Regional Manager of Comztek Africa in Namibia, “Comztek has an established track record of representing the Epson brand in Southern Africa, and we are looking forward to building the Epson brand in Namibia.
