MultiChoice Namibia opened 10 new Resource Centres at schools across the country. A handover ceremony for one of the new resource centres was hosted at Onehoni Combined School at Efinde Village in the Ohangwena Region.
The investment by MultiChoice Namibia is the first of its kind (to the school and village) by any institution and is going to provide the learners and community with access to information and news on science, technology and mathematics.
At the handover ceremony Dr Elijah Ngurare, Director, MultChoice Namibia Board, said that Onehoni Combined School received a flat screen television, mounting bracket, DStv Explora and satellite dish and that the school will receive access to the educational Bouquet which offers teachers new teaching material and the resources to record it on the DStv Explora’s PVR function.

Dr Ngurare was pleased that together with Onehoni Combined School, MultiChoice Namibia installed MultChoice Resource Centre at the following schools, Daweb Combined School, Hardap, Elim Junior Secondary School, Omusati and Himarua Ithete Junior Secondary School, Kavango West to name but a few.
The following channels are available on the Education Bouquet, Business Day TV, BBC World News, Mindset, History channel, BBC Knowledge, Animal Planet, Nate Geo Wild, National Geographic and NBC.
Teachers will receive training and orientation on the use of the equipment, including basic troubleshooting and how to effectively integrate the valuable resources into the teaching and learning experience.
