Music Awards album for sale
The NAMA compilation album was released this week. It is the first time an album has been produced from the performances at the NAMA event.
Tim Ekandjo, NAMA Executive Chairman said he is excited about the project and thanked all the participating artists for showing willingness to participate.
“The double CD with 18 tracks each feature all winning songs in the different categories at the 2014 NAMA’s event, as well as all artists who performed on the Friday and Saturday night awards even though they were not necessarily category winners,” said Ekandjo.
Ekandjo added that a promotional launch of the NAMA 2014 compilation album took place in Windhoek this week with all the featuring artists and a live radio broadcast by NBC radio.
The NAMA Executive Committee have cut 5000 copies and the idea is to sell every one of them in order to go platinum with the album.
The album will be available for sale at selected MTC Mobile Homes country wide and will go for the price of N$150 inclusive of VAT.
Ekandjo encouraged the Namibian public to get themselves a copy of the NAMA Compilation Album before it runs out of stock.
He also appealed to institutions like the Namibian Tourism Board and other like-minded institutions to buy the album in bulk and use this as a platform to market Namibian music.
“With Namibia hosting the CAF competition this year, this could be one way of marketing the country’s music industry by ensuring that every player of the participating nations gets their personal copy of the album” he said.
