Capricorn Asset Management recently announced three leadership appointments, appointing an Executive Officer: New Business Development, Chief Investment Officer and Executive Officer: Private Clients.
Gunton Cloete, and Floris Bergh have joined the Capricorn team while Fouche Brand has been promoted. Gunton Cloete joined CAM from Prudential Portfolio Managers as Executive Officer: New
Business Development with effect from 7 April 2014, and assumed responsibility for Institutional and Corporate clients as well as Financial Advisor. He brings with him a wealth of experience gained in the asset management environment which includes his role as General Manager: Finance, Investments & IT, at the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF). In addition he served as Managing Director of Prudential Portfolio Managers Namibia from 2005 to 2013. With more than 20 years’ experience in the Namibian market, Gunton is highly regarded in the Namibian investment community and we look forward to the contribution he will make in the future. Gunton is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and other qualifications include a B Compt (Hons), and MBA.

Floris Bergh took on the role of Chief Investment Officer with effect from 1 April 2014 and will assume responsibility for CAM’s Portfolio management functions and serve as member of the CAM Executive Management Team. He brings with him a wealth of investment management experience spanning more than 20 years, which includes his previous roles as Portfolio Manager at Namibia  Asset Management, stockbroker at Simonis Storm Securities, Head of Investec Asset Management Nambia and Equity Portfolio Manager at Old Mutual Investment Group Namibia. Floris is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and other qualifications include a B Com (Hons) in Economics and is an NSX qualified stock broker. Fouché Brand, current Executive Officer: Investor Services has assumed the role of Executive Officer: Private Clients, with effect from 1 April 2014. In his new role he will be responsible for expanding our private client offering to the more affluent investor markets. He will continue to be responsible for the retail mass market direct distribution and Bank Windhoek branch distribution, as well as serve on the CAM Executive Management Team.
