Trustco-insurance-bursaryLegal Shield awarded bursaries to Ndamonao Ilovo and Hilya Ndilulu, both B. Juris students at the University of Namibia, valued at N$25 000 each on 9 February. A 2011 Bursary recipient, Margaret Malambo, advised the 2012 bursary recipients to work hard, realise their dreams, be thankful for the opportunity and to use the money wisely. Legal Shield said it is a firm believer that education plays a pivotal role in the development of a country. The organisation has granted 21 bursaries to deserving Namibian law students over the past decade through its Corporate Social Investment initiatives, totaling N$400,000. Annette Brand, head of Trustco Insurance Ltd, remarked that Legal Shield wishes to empower the next generation of legal practitioners in Namibia and has this year gone one step further by undertaking to employ the bursary recipients upon completion of their studies in order to ensure a smooth transition from academia to profession. Legal Shield has made it possible for Namibians from all walks of life to be able to gain access to legal services. (Picture): Trustco bursary Hilya Ndilulu and Ndamonao Ilovo with Annette Brand.
