Public drivers motivated by Top Taxi
Windhoek taxi driver Petrus Shipingana (left) is the third Top Taxi winner for which he received N$3000 into his Standard Bank account. “I will use this money to solve my problems,” he said describing his feelings about his prize. Petrus also walked away with an emergency kit courtesy of Namibia Medical Care and a N$500 Shoprite shopping voucher. Standard Bank’s Advertising Manager, Auriel Aweries (right) presented Petrus with his prizes at a ceremony last week at the Windhoek City Police premises. The weekly Top Taxi Project promotes road safety among taxi driver, a notorious group of road abusers. The project is driven on the airwaves by Kosmos Radio and in print by The Namibian with further exposure from the NBC.
