Pearson certification for IT training

Telecom Namibia has reached a milestone in training its Information Technology technicians by partnering with Pearson VUE for IT certification of its training programmes at the well-known Gammams Training Centre in Windhoek.
Telecom recently announced its training programme will be certified through the Pearson VUE Testing Network to provide Information Technology testing and certification using the Pearson VUE® testing system.
The partnership between the two companies has seen the opening of the Telecom Namibia Pearson VUE Testing Centre at Gammams. It was officially opened by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Honorable Joel Kaapanda recently.

Pearson VUE is a global leader in electronic testing for regulatory and certification boards , providing services such as test development, test delivery and data management. The Pearson VUE’s advanced computer-based testing system administers examinations for leading IT certification programmes such as Cisco®, Oracle®, Comp TIA®, Citrix®, EMC®, Novell®, VMware® and others through a global network of quality test centres.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Raimo Naanda, the Senior Manager for Training and Development at Telecom Namibia expressed his company’s excitement on the new partnership with Pearson VUE.

The growing list of IT certification tests accessible through the Pearson VUE system are delivered directly from the test sponsors. Test results are quickly transmitted back, ensuring the candidate’s certification status is promptly updated.
He said Pearson VUE believes testing and certification is at the heart of the learning experience, and Telecom Namibia will play its part by offering accessible and secure testing to candidates. The Pearson VUE’s advanced system administers examinations on behalf of businesses, boards and organisations around the globe through the world’s largest, most secure test centre and the system enables candidates to register and reschedule their tests online or through a Pearson VUE call centre.  Among the technological advances of the Pearson VUE system is the ability to test candidates to register and reschedule their tests at the test centre, on the Pearson VUE web site or through a Pearson VUE call centre, all in real time via the Internet.
