Education is the key to success, and as a responsible corporate citizen we want to contribute to this sector’s development,” said Surihe Gaomas-Guchu, PR & Corporate Communications Manager at Standard Bank Namibia.

Dr Ndepewa Hamunime, Chairperson of the Standard Bank Namibia Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Board, recently noted: “Corporate Social Responsibility means that companies, apart from profit-making, have a greater purpose in society, which is the duty to protect and enhance society in which they operate. Business can play a pivotal role in improving the communities they serve as well as the society at large through corporate social investment programmes. I am of the opinion that companies must align their corporate social responsibilities with their corporate goals in order to have a meaningful impact on society.
“As one of the leading banks in Namibia, it is expected that we as the Standard Bank Namibia Board and its management and employees uphold the good name of the bank within our society. It is through corporate social programs that we remain relevant, close to our people, while meaningfully improving our communities,” said Dr. Hamunime.
