Bidvest Namibia Cup drawing to a close

The Bidvest Namibia Cup is drawing to a close – the semi-final of the club competition took place live on the national broadcaster’s leading soccer programme, NBC Soccer Pitch. The Sam Nujoma Stadium will open its gates on Saturday to welcome fans from far and wide to witness the soccer bonanza in two weeks time. Of the 32 teams that have participated in the competion thus far, only the reigning champions, Katutura-based African Stars, United Stars from Rundu, Citizens and Tura Magic, have managed to fight off opposition in a rigorous quest to lift the Bidvest Namibia Cup.

Citizens have been drawn against United Stars, whilst Tura Magic will face African Stars in another mouth-watering Katutura derby. Citizens were recently promoted to the premier league and will be hoping to show the same display that have earned them the right to compete against Namibia’s leading football clubs in the country. African Stars have it all to play for, as they have to defend their title aspirations against Tura Magic.
