My Hero Book

Lifeline Childline, recently trained young people in Windhoek and Groot Aub, to write their own Hero Books. The participating children are members of the child protection committees at different schools, responsible for peer counselling. Facilitator Nicolette Bessinger said these Hero Book training sessions are part of a series of training workshops conducted with the financial assistance of FNB Namibia. A Hero Book is a document, and a process, in which a child, youth, or adult is invited to be the author, illustrator, main character and editor of a book that is designed to help them set goals, and give them power over specific challenges and obstacles in their lives.
