DHPS back from Olympiad

The DHPS team returned home last week from a very successful and utterly exciting edition of the Sports Olympiad which was held in Johannesburg from the 16th-20 of March. Although the team could not manage to bring the cup home this year, the pupils gained greatly in a human and social perspective. The always disciplined and very cheerful team constantly showed their best performance in competitions and supported each other on and off the pitch. During the competitions the participants grew beyond themselves, so that the school claimed the second place at the end behind winner DSK (German School of Cape Town) and ahead of arch-rivals, Johannesburg. The coaches thanked the team and in appreciation stated: “We are proud of you and of your great performance.” The Sports department at DHPS thanked their sponsors for their continual support which allows them to participate after every two years. “This great experience would not have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors. A sincere thank you to the following companies: Cymot, African Marketing, Engineered Plastics & Linings and Swakopmund Guesthouse.” In addition the Sports department thanked the following families: Baas, Bader, Beggs, Borg, Coury, Fechter, Groenewald, Hecht, Horn, Jaeger, Kriess, Kröning, Lohmann, Pfeifer, Schatz, Theissen, von Ludwiger and Rapp. The department also thanked Mrs. Ritter of the Luisen Pharmacy.
