Burger leads MultiChoice
MultiChoice Namibia has announced the appointment of a new general manager. Marius Burger is the first Namibian to be appointed to this leadership position, taking over from Kobus Bezuidenhout effective from 1 February. Bezuidenhout has held the position for over nine years.
The appointment comes after Bezuidenhout got transferred to Ghana by MultiChoice Africa as regional director for West and Central Africa. During his handover speech, Bezuidenhout said that he is very touched to be leaving Namibia, “but I’m also delighted to welcome Marius as the new general manager of MultiChoice Namibia. This appointment reflects our commitment to Namibia by investing in, and developing people within the business,” he said.
Burger expressed his excitement and said: “I am very excited at the prospect of leading MultiChoice Namibia during these exciting times where technology is changing so rapidly and focusing on our mission to surround Namibia with a world of entertainment,” he said.
Burger also added that with the experience of success MultiChoice has had over the last 20 years, it will continue to deliver quality service and at the same time remain at the cutting edge of new innovations in the digital and satellite television industry.
Burger has been working for MultiChoice Namibia since 1997 and served as financial manager. He holds a B. Com in Accounting and Finance from the Potchefstroom University.
