The TransNamib Bowling Club (TNBC) dominated much of the second match-day of this year’s National Bowls League, which got underway at various venues around the country last weekend.
The players from the capital took over the lead in two of the four categories thanks to their outstanding performances.
In the men’s division, the TNBC came up against the Windhoek Bowling Club (WBC) in a one team show that saw TNBC thrash WBC 20:9 in what was clearly a one sided game.
The rivals from the Eros Bowling Club (EBC), who had managed to stay undefeated during the first match-day last weekend, showed great bowling in their first match as they celebrated a clear 23:16 victory over the Windhoek Country Club (WCC).

The top-teams then squared up against each other with, the TNBC players emerging the victors yet again winning the tie (22:14).
The two wins by the TransNamib men ensured a spot on top of the table followed by the men from Namib Park who are now placed 2nd in the league standings.
The women’s team of the TNBC also managed to get some good results as they hammered the Windhoek Bowling Club with 28:10 ensuring them a comfortable spot at the top of the league. The TNBC team also clashed with an impressive EBC women only to settle for a draw allowing TNBC to occupy top spot due to points difference.
The Namib Park Ladies also bested their Rossmund counterparts on Saturday and managed a draw on Sunday.
Meanwhile the EBC players were also unable to secure a win over the TransNamib Club in the mixed division as TNBC ran away with a.20:17 victory. However the lead was taken over by the Rossmund Bowling Club who won both their games securing the top spot ahead of their rivals from the TNBC and EBC due to the shot difference.
This coming weekend will see the commencement of the third match-day.
