Energy PS visits Vivo

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Kahijoro Kahuure led a delegation from the Ministry of Mines and Energy on a site visit to the Windhoek fuel depot of Vivo Energy Namibia, the company that distributes and markets Shell branded products. The visit took place on Tuesday this week.
The familiarisation tour included a presentation of the depot operations as well as tour around the depot facilities.
Vivo Energy Namibia said its Windhoek Depot is the largest depot in the city and fills up to 13 trucks daily at its fuel gantry. Its storage terrain covers an area of 13,290 square meter with eight storage tanks on site.

Managing Director Johan Grobbelaar welcomed the Permanent Secretary and his delegation saying  “We would like to thank you for taking the time to come and visit our site operations.  With this visit we hope to give a clearer understanding of our depot operations and also showcase our commitment to safety.”
“Vivo Energy Namibia is committed to the highest safety standards.  This will remain our continued focus and number one priority to ensure that we conduct our business with no harm to people, the environment or communities in which we operate,” he said. Vivo Energy Namibia has a storage capacity of 6415 m³ and 34 retail stations across the country with a majority accepting Shell Cards and offering convenience retail stores. Vivo Energy is Shell’s exclusive licensee in Africa. It is a joint venture between Vitol (40%), Helios Investment Partners (40%) and Shell (20%), Vivo Energy represents a unique combination of resources, experience and expertise. The Shell brand has been in Namibia for 38 years.
