A warden at the gaol in Divundu, Opheni Mwayanale has been chosen by the people to act as a judge to find this year’s Windhoek Lager Ambassador in the Business category.

Opheni Mwayanale – a correctional officer at Divundu Rehabilitation Centre who enjoys FIFA video games and travelling, amongst others – is the People’s judge for the Business category of the Windhoek Lager Ambassador Initiative.  Nominations for the Business category were received in December 2013 and the three finalists will be announced soon.
Mwayanale – who read about the Windhoek Lager initiative in the newspapers – said: “The Windhoek Lager Ambassador programme should serve as an encouragement to citizens that their efforts are appreciated and recognized at national level.”

Explaining the concept of a People’s Judge, Jacquiline Pack of Namibia Breweries “We wanted to give our fellow Namibians an opportunity to be part of our judging process.”
The Windhoek Lager Ambassador Initiative searches for people who make a difference, remain true to who they are and who will not compromise.
