Bank renews athletics sponsorship

Bank Windhoek has once again demonstrated its commitment to the development of athletics in the country by renewing its sponsorship agreement with Athletics Namibia.
The bank recently signed a N$300,000 sponsorhip agreement with the athletics mother body for the 2013/2014 season.
The sponsorship comes at the right time as the athletics season is set to start on 7 December 2013 in Swakopmund with the first in a series of Bank Windhoek Grand Prix events, the Senior National Track and Field Championships and the Confederation of African Athletics Southern Region (CAA SR) Senior Championships.

Marlize Horn, Executive Officer: Marketing and Corporate Communication Services at Bank Windhoek said the Bank has been a proud supporter of Athletics Namibia for a number of years in their effort to develop and promote athletics in the country especially at grassroot level
She said the sponsorship create opportunities for Namibian athletes to participate at national, regional and international level.
 â€śBank Windhoek is confident that Athletics Namibia, under the new leadership of Alna Similo, will continue to develop athletics and deliver results for the benefit of the athletes,” she said
Alna Similo, the newly-elected president of Athletics Namibia said her organisation is grateful that Bank Windhoek has continued to support athletics for a number of years now.
She said sponsorship from the bank has enabled athletes to receive professional training and guidance, and for them to be able to compete at international level.
