Marking a decade of orphans care
The Christina Swart-Opperman Aids Orphan Foundation Trust celebrated its 10th anniversary at a prestigious fundraising gala dinner held in Windhoek last week. Dr Christina Swart-Opperman, Namibian Businesswoman of the Year 2002, founded the Christina Swart-Opperman AIDS Orphan Foundation Trust as her dedicated project during her year as Namibian Businesswoman.
The CSO orphan trust works to improve the quality of life of AIDS orphans supporting between 1000 and 2000 children per month depending on availability of funding. Meanwhile another 3870 children are on the waiting list.The event was sponsored by Air Namibia, Medu-Letu Graphix, Engen, Namibia Breweries, Francois Erasmus and Partners, Methealth Namibia, Nampower, First national Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Tamonika.
