//Ae Gams Festival to be held in March

The City of Windhoek has announced that the annual //Ae Gams Arts and Cutural Festival will now be held every March starting next year.
Before the announcement, the //Ae Gams Art & Cultural Festival had traditionally been held in September.
City Mayor, Cllr Agnes Kafula said the festival has reached new heights that has necessitated the city, together with its stakeholders, to work towards giving the annual cultural festival a new look.
“It is for this reason that the public might have noticed that this year we have not hosted the usual fully-fledged //Ae Gams festival in September, but instead a built up event in preparation for a bigger and better festival.
Kafula said since its inception, the festival has reinforced a positive image of the City of Windhoek and continues to promote art and cultural activities in the city.
“It remains our commitment to recognize arts and cultural activities as vital components for creating a sustainable future for the people who live, work and play in the city,” she said.
