The Roads Authority Board of Directors this week announced the confirmation of Conrad Lutombi as the Roads Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, effective 01 October 2013, for the next five years.  Lutombi has been serving as Acting Chief Executive Officer since 2010.
Lutombi’s confirmation follows an extensive recruitment process by the board followed by a recommendation to the Minister of Works and Transport. This was subsequently approved by Cabinet.
A statement issued by the Roads Authority said Lutombi is an accomplished leader and has a wealth of experience in Leadership and Management demonstrated by a number of achievements during his tenure at the Roads Authority.
Prior to his stint as Acting Chief Executive Officer, he served in executive management positions such as Divisional Manager for Road Traffic and Transport Inspectorate and Divisional Manager for Transport Information and Regulatory Services at the authority.
“The board is, therefore, confident that Mr Lutombi is the most suitable candidate to steer the organisation towards realising our mandate which is to manage a safe and efficient national road network to support economic growth.”
Lutombi holds a Master of Science degree in Leadership and Change Management from Leeds University in the United Kingdom and it is underscored by other relevant degrees and diplomas. He is currently busy with studies for an MBA through Steinbeis University in Berlin, Germany.
“The Roads Authority Board of Directors would like to congratulate Mr Conrad Mutonga Lutombi on his confirmation as Chief Executive Officer and we wish him all the best in his quest to serve the Namibian Nation with excellence and integrity.”
