Namibia Primary School dominates at the Junior Hockey Tournament

The British High Commission in collaboration with the Hockey School of Excellence and UNAM Hockey Club hosted a Junior Hockey Tournament for Katutura & Khomasdal schools over the weekend.
The event that took place at Eros Primary School on Saturday attracted some 180 junior hockey players from six primary schools, namely, Namibia Primary, Peoples Primary, Namutoni, St. Barnabas, St. Andrews and the host Eros Primary. A total of 18 teams entered in the U/12 and U14 categories for boys and girls respectively. 34 games were played on the day and Namibia Primary School won both the girls sections (U12 & U14) respectively. People’s Primary School walked away with the U/12 boy’s trophy while St. Barnabas won the boys U/14 trophy. The Most Valuable Players in the four categories were: U/12 Girls, Uatjituavi Katunohange from Namibia Primary School; U/12 Boys, Shali Haikali    from Peoples Primary School; U/14 Girls, Undari Vakazuvasana from St. Barnabas Primary School and U/14 Boys, Kaizemi Kandjii from St. Barnabas Primary School. The Hockey School of Excellence and UNAM Hockey Club elected 30 junior hockey players which they will groom and nature to become future national players. The first training for these players will take place on Friday, 27 Sept 2013 at Namibia Primary School.
