Fistball champions crowned this weekend
SKW 2 has already qualified for the final of the Bank Windhoek National A league. The team surprised favourites and club mates, SKW 1, when they won the log section of the competition with some fine performances early in the season. SKW 1 will face Cohen FC 1 in a qualifying match, the winner of which will play in the final later in the day.
Cohen FC 1, have shown an improving form for most of the season and will put up a fight against the more favoured, SKW outfit. A win for Cohen would be a huge surprise, since the SKW 1 team is preparing for the Intercontinental Club World Championship which will take place in Windhoek on 11 and 12 October 2013. Teams from Brazil and Germany are expected to attend. A tense battle is expected in the Bank Windhoek National B league, where DTS and SKW 3 will lock horns in a game in which the winner will qualify to play Cohen FC 3 in the championship final. Either of the two teams will have their work cut out, should they reach the final. Cohen FC 3 has dominated the domestic second tier competition this year. They have won all their matches in the log section of the competition, dropping only two sets. A rejuvenated SFC 2 side meanwhile has their sights set on ending the competition in third spot. They will start their day with a fourth and fifth place playoff. A win in this match will allow them to play for third sport against either SKW 3 or DTS.
The finals of the Bank Windhoek championship will be played at 14h30 in the National B league and at 16h00 in the National A league. A prize-giving, where the DANRIC Auto player of the day trophy will be awarded, is scheduled to be held in the evening at 19h00 at the DTS club house.
