Conference on food safety standards

The Namibian Standards Institution (NSI) with the support of the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) will be hosting a two-days seminar and workshop on Food Safety Management System (ISO 22000) from 24 to 25 September at the Safari Hotel in Windhoek.
The NSI said this week the main objective of the seminar/workshop is to support the dissemination process of the ISO 22000 standard and help organisations operating in the food chain to understand the benefits of implementing a food safety management system according to the ISO 22000 standard. A special workshop will focus on modern techniques of food safety management.
Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills for the implementation, managing and monitoring of ISO 22000 standards in their own operations.
The NSI is inviting companies operating in the food chain to nominate their relevant employees for this crucial event. The institution said the overall seminar contributes to consumer protection and food safety. For more information, companies can contact Orpa Patuuomasa at [email protected] or Moses Muundjua at [email protected] on or before 11 September 2013.
