Kiddo returns to FNCC after a decade

From a ‘street vendor’ to a well known artist across the country, Paul Kiddo is truly one of Namibia’s best painters. Kiddo, who was born in the southern village of Bethanien, is known for his naïve realism oil-paintings.
Kiddo’s work is inspired by his love and passion for Namibia, its people, history, and the vast landscapes.
This artist started his painting career by using leftover paint from his contracting work as a painter for local contractors. He would then sell his artwork at give-away prices on the streets of Windhoek. Today, Kiddo is well known for his naïve realism oil-paintings.
Kiddo will be returning to the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre for his exhibition titled ‘Life in Namibia’, eleven years after his first exhibition at the FNCC Gallery.
The exhibition also include recent works depicting young people on the streets of the lively German city, Berlin. Kiddo spent two months in Berlin last year as part of an artist residency programme, “Shared Experiences”.
The exhibition is scheduled for 30 January at the FNCC at 18:30. Entrance is free and the exhibition will run until 29 February.
