Having enjoyed the first Grown Ups movie tremendously, I was excited when I heard that a sequel to the first movie was coming. However,  my expectations proved to have been to high when I finally got to watch the film.
Terrible is an understatement for this lame excuse for a sequel. The film somehow only focuses on Lenny (Adam Sandler) who played a hot shot Hollywood agent in the first Grown Ups movie. He has now moved back to the small town he grew up in and is reunited with his pals, some that are new to the viewer and others that were in the previous film. What should be a fun lighthearted hilarious film turns into a disaster with dry jokes on homosexuality, pregnancy, sexuality, farting and burping. There is nothing grown up about this film. The only thing that is grown in this film is the level to which the actors bore, disgust and irritate the viewer. Instead of humor we get half baked gags, mediocre actors and the worst dialogue. Don’t get me wrong, the original cast is fine but the additional cast members are anything but entertaining. It is just another case of too many cooks spoil the broth, instead of a comedy we are given a circus without a ringmaster. I fail to find any humor in this movie and it seemed to drag on and on. It is really hard to find likeable, any of the additional cast. All the characters are stiff and uninteresting. I clenched my teeth every time the black American family with the bald heads would say “whaaaattt”. That is arguably the most repetitive and annoying irritation. It screams at you! Even Eric Lamonsoff who is played by Kevin James, burping and farting at the same time is not as annoying as the silly family. I have always been a fan of Adam Sandler movies but this one fails to deliver. I feel that he has lost his comic touch. He used to make lucrative comedies that were worth every cent at the cinema but after this flop, it’s not a bad thing to wish or say that the funny man should call it quits. I would rather have my tooth pulled without anesthetic than watch this sequel again. I sure do hope that there is no Grown Ups 3 because one sham of a sequel is more than enough to make you hate the actual film. It is a totally stupid movie and such a waste of time. Whatever you do if you have lots of free time on your hands, go do some charity work, read a thousand page novel, just do anything to avoid watching this movie.
