More Enduro at Albrechtshöhe
As always, KTM riders enjoy the benefit of a powerful and robust bike in the Enduro races.
The Albrechtshöhe event is co-sponsored by Sat Com, who is also the supplier and sponsor of timing equipment of the series. The event will run on both the Albrechtshöhe and Kaliombo farms, which will again test the riders in the rocky landscape. A few changes have been made to the track, nicknamed the Rocky Horror Race, but the regulars, like the rock face for the brave, will again be featured, including an optional route, called the chicken run, for the not-so-brave riders. A good mix of twisty sand sections and a few river beds will provide a great challenge. With a change in direction and the service area located on Kaliombo, the riders will recognise some sections but running them in reverse this year will create a new obstacle.
With the season over the halfway mark, this event could prove crucial in determining series podium places. Riders need to stay consistent as seven of the eight race series count towards the championship. The worst result will be the thrown away, but the risk of a DNF (Did Not Finish) is always there as the series and terrain take their toll on riders and machines.
With ten classes set to run during this event, and the location halfway to the coast, entries look set to again show the growth of the sport with riders from the coastal area will join in the fun.
Saturday’s racing will start at 07:00 with Documentation and Scrutineering for non-Windhoek riders. Windhoek riders had the opportunity do the Documentation on Thursday at the KTM shop.
The Event will be held on the Farms Albrechtsh̦he and Kaliombo near Karibib. From Windhoek, drive towards Karibib. About 80km from Okahandja in the direction to Karibib there will be a turn-off to the left (farm gate with banners) Рfollow the farm road for about 500m to the pits.
