Coastal leg of Nedbank for Autism series tees off at Walvis Bay Golf Club
The Nedbank for Autism Series will commence this weekend after it was essentially put on hold as a means of showing due regard for the national COVID-19 restrictions.
The series intends to raise awareness and funds for the Autism Association of Namibia. The coastal leg of the series will be teeing off at the Walvis Bay Golf Club on Saturday, 26 September.
The series will then head to the Rossmund Golf Course in Swakopmund on Saturday, 3 October, followed by the Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate on Saturday, 10 October.
“There is a need for much more acute awareness about autism and that is why Nedbank took this opportunity to support this cause. We are quite proud to be associated with the Nedbank for Autism Golf Series. The ‘Coastal Swing’ part of the series gives us an opportunity to connect with golfers in the greater Erongo Region once more, and as per our discussions with the Namibia Sport Commission, we will be abiding completely to the Covid-19 protocols that have been entrenched within all of us during the past few months,” said JG van Graan, Nedbank Chief Financial Officer.
According to series coordinator, Dan Zwiebel from DZ Golf, all golfers are allowed to participate in any of the events with players with official handicaps qualifying for prizes “The winner from each event will then progress to the final in the capital, with the format being an individual stableford. At the final event, the nine winners will respectively team up with an invited sponsoring team consisting of three players to compete for team prizes as well as the attractive overall prizes,” he says.
Other sponsors for the Nedbank Autism Series include M+Z Motors Windhoek, Old Mutual Wealth, AfricaOnline, Engen Namibia, Taeuber & Corssen, Khomas Medical Centre, Momentum Short-Term Insurance, Gondwana Collection Namibia, ComputerKit Namibia and Radiowave.
