Ongwediva Trade Fair

MTC this week affirmed its continuous support to the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF), when it announced during a fundraising gala dinner that it will continue to support the trade fair until 2016. The mobile communications operator has made a commitment of N$450,000 per annum for this year as well as for the next three. The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair takes place from 23 to 31 August.
The Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair was started as a small rural exhibition by the Ongwediva Town Council. It has developed into the major commercial event in the Four O regions.
MTC has been the main sponsor for the OATF for the last thirteen years. The Trade Fair is one of the most notable events that takes place every year in the town of Ongwediva . Businesses and Industries have opportunities to showcase their products and services to existing and potential customers .
“As a responsible corporate citizen who has a special regard for the growth of small and medium entrepreneurs, MTC spent in excess of N$1.5 million in sponsorships to various trade shows, exhibitions and trade fairs.” I would like to congratulate the OATF for what we know will yet be another successful Trade Fair. So often we expect outcomes to be different year in and year out while our methods remain the same, it does not work like that because you cannot solve problems with the same mindset with which you created those problems. I would therefore like to commend the OATF for continually thinking outside the box and making the trade fair different and bigger every year” said Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer Tim Ekandjo.
Amongst all the shows and trade fairs that receive funding from MTC the most notable is the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair which has grown over the years due to MTC’s unwavering support as the headline sponsor. Other shows which will also receive financial support from MTC during this financial year are the Caprivi Trade Fair, Eenhana Trade Fair, Olufuku Festival, Gobabis Show, Omaheke Trade Fair, Okakarara Trade Fair, Lüderitz Crayfish Festival, Otjiwarongo Show, Keetmanshoop Show, Oranjemund Diamond Festival, Tsumeb Copper Festival, Rehoboth Show.
