Namibia Breweries Limited this week presented to ecstatic doctors at the Windhoek Central Hospital eye clinic with a brand-new opthalmoscope the value of N$27,000. Namibian medical icon, Dr Helena Ndume and her younger colleague, Dr Sven Obholzer immediately started using the new device to detect eye problems, especially at the back of the eyeball where it is often very difficult to do a analytic scan of the retina.

Dr Obholzer explained that the new equipment would assist them greatly in conducting more efficient and appropriate examinations of the posterior segment of the eye. Dr Ndume added: “We would like to thank Namibia Breweries for their generous sponsorship in a quest to improve patient care for Namibian eye patients.”
