Apron bus lands at Hosea Kutako Minister

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) this week unveiled one of the two airport apron buses (above) at Hosea Kutako International Airport. Officiating after the salutory welcome, the Minister of Works and Transport, Hon Erkki Nghimtina said, “Without a doubt Hosea Kutako is ideally situated to complement airport capacity of other hubs within southern Africa. ” Airport Company Board Chairperson Ndeuhala Katonyala said the apron buses were acquired for a combined value of N$5.7 million, and that each bus has a carrying capacity of 67 passengers. Seen on the right with the minister, Katonyala added that NAC is busy with “the construction of the new modern passenger terminal at Ondangwa Airport; a new enlarged passenger terminal at Walvis Bay airport; a new fire station at Eros Airport and the polymer perimeter fencing at Walvis Bay and Lüderitz Airports”. Welcoming new arrivals with a water canon salute at their home base is an old aviation tradition.
