The reigning MTC Premier League champions Black Africa recently recieved N$100,000 as a  performance bonus from club sponsor FNB Namibia.
The bonus, which is in addition to the monthly grant that the team recieves from the bank, comes after the popular Katutura based outfit won the coveted N$1 million MTC Premier Soccer League title for a record equalling three seasons in a row.
At the same function, the club’s Player of the Season was also handed a cheque of N$15 000 for his exploits during the just ended season.
Speaking at the hand over ceremony, CEO Ian Leyenaar said FNB Namibia was proud to be associated with the “title addicts”.
Leyenaar said: “I am aware that to be crowned champions is not easy, more so if it is for the third season in a row, as it creates continuous expectations from the supporters and stakeholders to maintain if not improve excellence at all times.”
He added that FNB’s brand mantra “How can we help you “ allows the bank to team up with those who show genuine passion for specific projects, particularly those that receive support from the communities in which they serve.
Black Africa, who have already confirmed their participation in the next edition of the CAF Champions League, thanked FNB Namibia for their continued support. Chairman Ranga Haikali  said his team’s partnership with the bank had made it possible for them to set their sights on greater achievements in the future.
