
Training Authority certifies first group of training centres

MP, Marlene Mungunda and Hileni Lizazi from Monitronic Success College receive their official registration certificate from Ubaidullah Davids, NTA Finance General Manager and Cowley van der Merwe, Chairperson of the Standards, Assessment and Certification Council.
The event, themed as “Networking Ceremony” was held at Nice restaurant in the capital and those that attended were encouraged to mingle with other training providers for possible partnerships with one another.
Mr Ubaidullah Davids, NTA’s Acting General Manager: Finance and Administration who read the welcoming remarks on behalf of Mrs Ngipondokoa, Acting CEO of Namibia Trainig Authority (NTA), welcomed the guests and thanked them for accepting the invitation. “ Tonight we will hand over certificates of compliance to altogether 24 vocational education and training providers who have met the quality requirements as per the Regulations” said Davids adding that the institutions “all underwent intensive and rigorous evaluations”.
An industrial theater play under the theme “ why register” was also performed by the Township Productions Actor Troupe. The play portrayed the importance of enrolling at a registered taining provider. This small measure of entertainement visibly caught the guests’ attention as everyone appreciated the enjoyment of the play.
In his keynote address, the Chairperson of the Standards, Assesment and Certification Council of Namibia Training Authority, Mr Crowley van der Merwe emphasised why quality training would be possible under registered training institutions. “Quality is a perceptual , conditional and a somewhat subjective attribute and may be understood differently by different people” said van der Merwe. “As training institutions, you would appreciate that managing quality becomes fundamental to all your activities and programmes”.
The Certificates of Accreditation were then presented to representatives from the awarded training institutions.
