Vedanta founder visits Rosh Pinah

The Executive Chairman and founder of Vedanta Group, Anil Agarwal visited Skorpion Zinc Mine in Rosh Pinah earlier this month. This was Agarwal’s first visit to the mine as well as the country.
 On arrival at the Rosh Pinah Airstrip, he was given a warm Namibian cultural welcome by the local traditional Kavango group, which performed welcome songs and dances.
During his visit, Mr Agarwal was taken on a tour of the Rosh Pinah town and the mine, where he was shown the different operations of  the mine.
After touring the Skorpion Zinc operations, the Executive Chairman met with employees in the auditorium, where he shared his thoughts on Skorpion and the future. He then entertained questions from the floor.
“You are a unique group of individuals here at Skorpion Zinc that have so far done exceptional work,” said Mr. Anil Agarwal, “and I urge you to continue believing that you will achieve whatever you set your minds to!”
Mr. Anil Agarwal, founded the Vedanta Group in 1976, and is also Chairman of Sterlite and a Director of BALCO, HZL, and Vedanta Alumina Ltd. Since 1976, the Group has grown under his leadership, vision and strategy. Mr. Agarwal has over 30 years experience as an industrialist. Only last year, the globally revered business leader was honoured with the coveted Economic Times Business Leader of the Year 2012 Award, which was presented to him by the Hon. Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, in Mumbai.
