Bank Windhoek shares jump 14% on first day

The listing of Bank Windhoek Holdings Limited on the Namibian Stock Exchange is the financial event of the year. The share was valued at N$8.75 for the Initial Public Offering but demand was so huge, the listing was 3.5 times over-subscribed. It opened trading on Thursday at N$9.50 per share, reached an intra-day high of N$10.10, and closed its first day on N$10.02. Some 845,336 shares changed hands in 23 transactions at an average price for the day of N$9.723. Total traded value came to N$8,219,201. (See article under MARKETS)
