Come this Friday, 21 June, Standard Bank clients can apply for financing to obtain the smart device of their choice.Called “Smart Device Deals”, the bank announced this week it will finance existing clients with special rates and conditions to make the purchase of a smart device easier. The bank said this type of financing is the first of its kind in Namibia.
“Standard Bank Namibia is the first commercial bank in the country to introduce Smart Device Deals to its loyal customers as from today 21 June 2013.”
A smart device is an electronic device like a smart phone, an iPad, laptop or tablet that is cordless, mobile and always connected. It can be used for voice and video communication, internet browsing and geolocation. Announcing the exciting news, Head of Personal and Business Banking Baronice Hans said the selling of exclusive tablets and laptops is to give their Current Account clients the chance to buy these items at very low interest rates, with no deposit and on a hire purchase.“We have partnered with international leading brands to bring you exclusive offers on tablets and laptops.  You can now buy your Asus Laptop, Google Nexus Tablet, iPad 4 and iPad Mini not only at a reduced price, but also on a Hire Purchase over 24 months and you do not need to pay a deposit,” explained Hans.
Hans added that through this offer “Standard Bank Namibia shows that we have listened to our customers and established their wants and needs thereby offering them the chance to acquire what is seen as a luxury item.”Turning back to reality, she said to qualify, a customer must have an existing Standard Bank Current Account into which his or her salary is deposited or the client must open a current account for the first salary.New and existing Achiever, Prestige and Private Banking clients have the choice of taking up the smart device deal with Standard Bank Namibia. The usual credit checks will apply, she said. Internet Banking Manager Rivan Meyer said: “Standard Bank Namibia’s Blog Page that is launched on 21 June elaborates on the product range of the Smart Device Deal as well as outlines the terms and conditions.” To apply for a Smart Device customers can call the customer contact centre on 0819286.
