Many stars shine in windy Lüderitz

Suzan Ndjaleka, Mayor of Lüderitz, Gladwin Groenewaldt, Senior Corporate Communication Officer, NHE.The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) sponsored the Lüderitz Crayfish Festival Exhibition  Awards Ceremony that took place early in June at the Yacht Club in the small harbour town.NHE’s Willem Titus, Acting Manager: Business Development & Operations congratulated the Town Council for hosting a business conference as part of the Crayfish Festival saying this event  demonstrates its commitment to the economic development of the town. “NHE is happy to be part  of it. The National Housing Enterprise will continue to be your development partner” he said.NHE said it takes note of the fact that Regional Councils and Local Authorities are key stakeholders  in the delivery of housing. The Lüderitz Town Council has always been co-operative with NHE in availing land for the delivery of housing in Lüderitz.The partnership between NHE and the Lüderitz Town Council has continued to deliver value for the people of Lüderitz. To date, NHE has constructed more than 230 houses in Lüderitz. “NHE’s  engagement and sponsorship of the Crayfish Festival is once more proof of its commitment to the development of Lüderitz and the Karas region at large.”NHE recently completed the second phase of its housing projects in Keetmanshoop. This project consists of 100 housing units. Titus said NHE is pleased to announce the implementation of a new housing project in Lüderitz which will consist of 79 housing units. The project is planned to commence on 01 July this year and the first houses should be completed by the end of the year.NHE is not a profit driven organization but is service driven. As a result, NHE houses are competitively priced at about 30% below the private sector prices. NHE’s interest rate is also 1% below the prime lending rate. This makes NHE houses more affordable to all.Outstanding exhibitors received awards in the following Categories: Best Corporate: NAMDEB, Best Government: Nampol Lüderitz, Best SME: Maritza Morgan, Overall Winner: Shilongo Leather Works.
