Revivals Volleyball Club were the big winners at last Saturday’s games of the Bank Windhoek National Volleyball Ladies League that was held in Grootfontein.
The Katutura based outfit defeated Oshikoto Nampol in an action-packed match that kept the crowd thrilled throughout. At first, Revivals under estimated the policewomen from Tsumeb and deservedly lost the opening set.
However, with the change of tactics by their coach, the Windhoek team eventually won the match 3 – 1. They also won their match against the hosting team Eleven Arrows 3 – 0 in the crowded hall of the Namibia Defence Base. As a result of their spectacular performance, Revivals climbed four spots to third place on the long standings.
It was not a good day at the office for the hosting team as they also lost their match against UNAM 3 – 0. The match lacked high level quality play, but the techniques on both sides were promising. UNAM was however defeated in their match against Oshikoto Nampol in all three sets thanks to some skillful play by Magano Nantango who mesmerised the desperate UNAM ladies. The next games of the Bank Windhoek National Volleyball Men’s and Ladies Leagues will be played on 29 June in Windhoek.
