The distribution of apples for the Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project, has started. The distribution started this week Monday and ends next week Friday, 7 June.
Bank Windhoek’s partners, Nampost Couriers, Fedex and H&H Transport are distributing the apples countrywide at no cost.  Bank Windhoek staff members and helpers from Men-on-the-Side-of-the-Road have been recruited to run the logistical effort.
“We are extremely grateful to the three transport companies, namely Nampost Couriers, Fedex and H&H Transport for the support. If it was not for them, we would not be able to distribute and deliver the apples on time. We would also like to thank Fruit and Veg for sourcing fresh apples from South Africa” said Riaan van Rooyen, of Bank Windhoek.
A record number of 880 000 apples have been sold and the funds raised are to be announced on 13 June when the funds will be handed to the Cancer Association.
