elearning Conference in Namibia

The 8th Annual Pan-African eLearning Africa conference will this year be held in Windhoek, Namibia from May 29th to 31st at the Safari Conference Centre. eLearning is an enabling technology that will help make education more accessible  for Africans, and is in direct alignment to Microsoft’s Education vision of “Anytime Anywhere Learning for All.”
Major themes for the conference include tradition, change and innovation, and the dominant focus this year is on local innovation in education. In sub-Saharan Africa, 42% of students will leave school before completing their studies. Access to and availability of quality education have been identified as some of the major stumbling blocks for development in the region. According to Microsoft, eLearning and information technology both have vital roles to play across the continent when it comes to improving access to education and ensuring fewer students leave school before they have realised their potential.
