Far North Championships coming soon
The tenth edition of the Far North championships will be launched in Ongweidiva next week. On 28 May Sakaria Nghikembua, CEO – Operations, Old Mutual Namibia will reintroduce the games that have become ever so popular amongst towns up north. Old Mutual has contribute over N$ 200,000 per event since its inception. Forty-eight school teams participated in the 2012 Old Mutual Far North Championships and this year hopes to attract even more teams.
Old Mutual Championships stands on the belief that the tournament acts as an inspiration to all participating players to further their sporting capabilities to national level. As customary, regional winners from Ohangwena, Oshikoto, Omusati and Oshana will each receive cash prizes. Last year prize winners were awarded a photocopier machine to the value of N$15, 000,cash prizes, trophies and medals.
