Namibia is currently experiencing the worst drought in 14 years. Recognising the severe impact the current drought situation could have on the agricultural sector and economy, Standard Bank  expresses its commitment to support its customers and communities in which it operates during this difficult period.
In view of this, Standard Bank has already taken a proactive step in identifying clients that might need special attention during the drought period. Head of Commercial, Regional and Agriculture Department Herman Coetzee states that Standard Bank is prepared to assist clients by providing advice and structuring their loan facilities to enable them to repay their loans.
In granting additional finance, as with any banking facilities, all applications will be assessed on their own merit and within the bank’s normal criteria. The bank stresses that they would require a full view and understanding of the clients’ unique situation in order to identify the most appropriate remedial strategies.
