Volvo Cars Windhoek has won another award, this time for the sterling improvement the dealership has effected at its Windhoek showroom. Out of 23 dealers in the Southern African dealer network, Windhoek won Most Improved Dealer of the Year Award for 2012 at the prestigious Volvo Car Dealer of the Year event, held in Cape Town recently.
The criteria for this award include an evaluation of all aspects of the business such as the workshop, sales, the spare parts section, overall management as well as sales performance. “Our sales performance was very strong during 2012,” said Johan Lucas, Brand Manager for Volvo cars Windhoek. “We achieved 138% of set target,” commented Lucas, “which is mostly the result of our revised approach to everything we do here at the dealership; it’s about a collective achievement and recognising that this outcome is about the Volvo team being passionate about what we do,” he said. Volvo Cars Windhoek is a subsidiary of Novel Motor Company. Mr Ricardo Raposo, Managing Director of Novel Motor Company said, “It is evidence that the changes that we have made in the company and keeping our line of sight on the new vision for Novel Motor Company, are taking us in the right direction and it is a path we intend staying on.”
In addition to the Most Improved Dealer award, Raposo and Lucas each received Managing Directors’ Awards for Excellence. The Managing Directors’ Award is special recognition by the Managing Director of Volvo Car South Africa, Mr Braam van der Reep, for exceptional performance in the region. Only four Managing Directors’ Awards for Excellence were awarded for exceptional performance in 2012.
The Volvo brand was introduced into the market by Novel Motor Company in1996 and the iconic Scandinavian engineering, aesthetic and reputation for quality and safety has proved to be popular with Namibian motorists.
